Vino101 Wine Classes

Vino101 is our series of informational, thematic tasting classes aimed at providing basic wine information. To call these “formal classes” or “wine education” would be more formal than we intend–the goal is simply to experience and enjoy wine and if you emerge with some knowledge, trivia and personal insight into why you enjoy wine then mission accomplished!

Vino100 class

Vino101 Wine Classes include:

  • Tastings of 5-7 wines
  • Tasting crackers and fruit
  • Numerous handouts about the wines and the class theme so you don’t have to take notes
  • 10% off all wines tasted and 5% off everything else in the store
  • Pre-registration is REQUIRED, due to space limitations of 20 people per class–please contact the store at (503) 466-1606 to reserve your seat with a credit card.
  • All Classes begin at 7:30pm and usually end by 9pm
  • Cost: $20-$30 per person (please ask about discounts for groups of 5 or more)
  • 48 hour cancellation policy. If your cancellation is received less than 48 hours prior to the class or if you do not attend the class, we regret that your class fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

“Want Some Cheese With your Wine?” Pairing great wines and cheeses

Ever wonder if Camembert goes with Chardonnay? What about Brie with Champagne? We’ll address these cheese dilemmas and more as we match a number of cheeses with fantastic wines. We will make you believers in “perfect matches before the night is over!” (The cost of this class is $30 per person)

“A Perfect Match!” Pairing Wine & Chocolate… Oh La La!

Are certain chocolates REALLY better than others? Does chocolate pair better with red wines or dessert wines? Learn this and more while tasting through 5 chocolates paired with a combination of 5 different red and dessert wines. Indulge your sweet tooth; after all, both chocolate and wine are good for your health! (The cost of this class is $20 per person)

Simple Appetizers Paired With Wine = Easy Entertaining!

Entertaining should always be fun, but its even better when it’s easy as well! For this class, we’ve paired wines with incredibly elegant, tasty, and easy to prepare appetizers. You’ll take home these yummy recipes so you can impress your friends and family at your next soiree! (The cost of this class is $30 per person)

—Wining Women

Once a month we hold a Wining Women event. This event consists of tasting five great wines and light appetizers for only $5. The ladies at Vino100 team up with another woman owned business to showcase their product along with our great wines. This is a great night to grab your neighbor, co-worker, sister or girlfriends for a fun filled time. Please check the homepage for the current schedule.
